How to deal with codes 24 and 31?

24- (MX83) Intake air temp sensor signal (open or short)
31- Air flow meter signal (open in Vc or Vs and E2 shorted when TPS IDL circuit closed)

Do i have to clean them, or has the AFM gone bad?

Cannot clean them. Prolly need a new one.

The tsrm says how to check the air temp sensor in the afm.

Nah, those numbers are fine. Did you measure them at the ECU connector, or AFM connector?

I measured them from the AFM pins

There is nothing to clean on a VAF meter. You could wipe it out, but that won't change readings.

Why not test it like the book says first? The info needed for that is shown in the TSRM in at least three places.
