in my personal opinion, 400-420 rwhp is a good number for stock internals. by that, i mean of course that your motor *SHOULD* last a while at those levels. (we'll see, as that's what i'm doing)

once you get into the 500rwhp range, it's only a matter of time before something fails. if you're going for that much power, build the motor for it.

..thats what I'm doing Shaeff.. stock internals and right now I should be running at least 410-20 whp. Everything internally seems solid.. I've just blown seals (front main basically) from stupidity.

alright so I can get a jdm 7m-gte shipped to my door for $1300 taxes in... that's pretty damn good... then I'll run it stock for a bit, then start upgrading stuff.. I'll get everything machined before the swap, check all the clearnences... do the mhg.. then when I do the swap start off with 550cc injectors, maft pro, stock turbo and everything else pretty much stock to start with (bigger front mount ic tho so I dont hvae to deal with it down the road and buy two ic's...)...

how does that sound gents?

LOL, that's great.

Also, to answer a question you asked earlier about what boost you'll need to hit 450hp. That all depends on the turbo you choose. The larger the turbo the lower the boost, but also the slower the spool. Smaller turbo will need more boost to reach that.

did anyone mention Brakes? ain't no good to go fast if you can't control it and wind up in a tree. driveshaft should free up a little power as well.

wilwood 13" two piece slotted rotors with 4 piston calipers should fit the bill. (also eibach prokit springs and bilstein adjustable struts)

Sometimes I entertain myself and add up all the parts people have on their wish list. I came up with roughly $12887. That includes parts, machining, and misc. stuff you made need to complete your swap. That does not include shipping on any parts. That's the parts list you mentioned minus the Wildwood big brake kit. For that kind of coin I'll find me a nice clean MKIII for sale, and start the upgrades from there. http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.j...smission=&doors=&max_price=13000&cardist=1564

Those are some examples of cars that already have alot of the mods you listed. And you'd still have money to spare to you can reach your 450rwhp goal. Of course you can always look for a '89+ turbo 5spd car that has a BHG, or rod knock and buy it cheap. Start modding that car and use your N/A for a parts car. Then sell the N/A to your local junk yard when you're done with it. Those are some things to consider.

I'm running stock calipers with brembo rotors and EBC metallic pads. Good daily stopping performance but it does fade after several massive stops in a row. Someone said that this might be the dot 3 brake fluid boiling??

Well I could do that... but I'm planning on making this build a long process... I don't have the money to go out and buy a car that has it already done (nor do I want to since I want to learn how to do it all)... I appreciate the imput, and it would probably be a wiser way to go, but I have already invested a lot of money into the current car I have and is in damn good shape to start out with (needs paint but other than that... nothing)... so basically my plan is to get the car painted, get the interior done in leather, do the brakes and suspension uprades then order a 7m-gte longblock and tear it down and rebuild it and work on getting the performance parts I need for the engine (while I have my kickass looking 7m-ge powered supra still on the road)... then I will do the swap and replace everything that needs to be replaced as I go (do it some summer, I will have a street bike to drive while my car is down)... then once the built gte is in I will then save for the maft pro and other performance parts that are required.

jdm 7m-gte... upgraded turbo, maft pro, 550cc injectors, lexus afm, k&n intake fipk, bigger ic, hard pipes, 3" dp back exhaust, afpr, walbro fuel pump, then I will probably get a set of Eibach prokit springs on bilstein struts.. and to stop me a wilwood big brake kit (13" two piece rotors, 4 piston calipers)... and I will also use a turbo tranny with lightened flywheel and better clutch.

hows that sound? what kind of boost would I need to run in order to meet that goal? I'll also do a mhg, and maybe forged internals.
I'd stay away from the K&N FIPK,leaves residue in the AFM tract

Oh, I thought you already had all the funds to complete this swap already. You still might want to consider trying to find a used MKIII turbo 5spd that needs work. I'm sure you can pick one up cheaper than importing an engine. Since you're going to go through your imported engine and basically rebuild it might as well do that to another MKIII. Plus you'll have other misc. parts that you'll need to complete the swap instead of trying to source them individually. You can have a parts car for anything you need then when you're done with it you can call the junkyard to come pick it up and get back a little cash. Or sell parts online. Just a thought.
