Since I put my GT40-88 on my 1JZ, the car has been getting laggier and laggier. First it hit full boost around 4200, then it started going up, and up, and up, until I wasn't hitting full boost until about 6500rpm. I knew something was wrong, but could not find a leak anywhere.
Then for the hell of it, I decided to take off the coupler right on the turbo, you know, just to make sure that it was on tight....

HOW THE HELL DOES THAT HAPPEN? The hole was on the underside, near the exhaust manifold. I could not see it at all. Maybe there was a small tear that worked its way apart after so much boost, or maybe a squirrel got hungry or something.
Sheesh. At least now I know why my car's been so laggy. Funny thing was the turbo still happily put out 18psi
