^ You're not to good with money either? lol Your car is an asset/investment as well as your house. You probably never had anything stolen from you either? Also in TN insurance is required by law and if you happen to hit someone you get to pay for damages. Ask my dad about this one, 15 years later he is still paying on it! That's something bigger to worry about.

This isn't intended to be a rant or bash so please don't take it that way but don't take things for granted either.

Most cars are not assets. A house (normally) appreciates, an MKIII Supra does not. If it were an asset, then our cars would be worth at least $50k because they stickered at what, $25k-$35k eighteen years ago? Thanks to a silly movie, some of the MKIVs have truly appreciated. Those would be assets.

My interpretation of Jetjock's post is that he does not carry comprehensive coverage on his car. Not necessarily a bad idea depending on the car and what your goals are.

Might want to research that comprehensive vs liability auto insurance coverage. "You're not too good with money either?" was a most appropriate statement.

The people whom are to be listened to on this forum don't give a shit about the point system. ;) Spend more time on this forum before you start making short comments about people. If you care to enjoy this forum it is important to make a good first impression or you will find yourself on people's ignore list. Just some advice, take it for what it is worth. :)

Wait, we have a point system? Damn ;)

Zoom's interpretation is correct. Maybe I'm wrong but it seems to me anyone out of high school should have reached the same conclusion. Of course I carry liability. More than is required in fact. Rich guys like him probably carry the minimum...

that was a good video.

Is nobody in this thread mildly concerned with the fact some are revealing how they disable/enable their cars?

I dunno... I just wouldn't go through the effort to install a kill switch and then explain on a public forum how to disable it and start the vehicle, despite how determined a pro might be.

As for the vettes...dont most new cars like that having GPS tracking systems that could be turned on fairly soon after the car is stolen?

The 'vettes ranged anywhere from '53 to present. Most of them didn't have any form of theft deterrent(the newer ones usually didn't get left outside either.) I failed to mention it happened at ~1 in the afternoon,on the main road,in a very busy area, and my car was locked,my keys were in my pocket.
If I were a thief that knew enough to get a mk3 started without a key,I would have took a 2nd gen C-4 long before a stock na mk3.

Even if someone did steal mine the cops would have him in less than a couple days. I got the only Mk3 Supra on the road where i live and problly to only one worth stealing. plus all my friends know its my car and if they see someone else in it they call me, even if its my dad

I am aware of where I park. I try to be strategic but don't waste much time on it.

My car got the garage when I first got it. Then when it went to the other house for BHG repair, my wife took it over and I don't see the Supra getting it back until summer.

I don't carry full coverage on it either. Just liability and uninsured motorist. That MA71 part of the vin makes it more expensive than I care to pay. It's old. Why bother?

While I love my car and try to take care of it, it's way down on the list of priorities.

Oh, and I'm not good with my money either. I do own a Supra.:sarcasm:

How protective of my supra am I?

Meh, I try not to get too bent out of shape over it. It's a 19 year old japanese sports car that I paid too much for. I just take it out and drive it, I avoid getting any bruises on it I can avoid, and try not to sweat the ones I can't avoid.

As for theft protection: Hope, good insurance, and I try to park next to nice Hondas and other popular theft targets.

It's Not Important Bro
I was on a first date the other night and we were parking in a fairly tight spot and I said, very nicely to my date - "Hey, your door is a little longer that what you are used to so, please dont door ding my door or the SUV next to you.
She very smart assed replied, "hey it's just a silly car, chill out!!!!!". "Had I known this, we could have taken my volvo".
I very quickly offered to take her back to her house to get her volvo.

When we got there, I told her three things:
#1- The more I learn about chick's, the more I like cars
#2 - My car is not silly
#3 - Have a nice night

Her jaw dropped and she was speechless.

Bitchy Chicks are a dime a dozen. My 1991 has 36k original miles and not a scratch on her so yes sir, I am protective and have had a belly full of bitchy chicks, at least for a little while.

eooooowww.... I sound bitter, wonder why? Shame, Shame, Shame.....
