I've owned my 1990 for almost exactly 20 years now. I am the original owner.

My car has broken down only 1 time in that entire period of time that was un-expected and/or unrelated to elevated HP mods causing problems.

My cam position sensor wiring had become brittle and the connection plug also became brittle due to their location and would when cruising at 30km (school zones, playground zones for example) just simply decide to lose connection and kill the motor. So there I would be stuck with a car that turned over but would not start. As the engine bay cooled the connections became passable again and it would start. Must have taken me like 3 months to chase this problem down before finally figuring it out. Not an expensive repair but really illustrated for me the fact that the car is not new and all the subsystems of the car are not new and need to be given a once over now and then.

Fix it right now, or fix it again later and often have to fix more because you cut corners the first time.

Someone on here often says "Cheap parts are never good and good parts are never cheap!". Truer words have never been spoken when you are talking about your supra.
