So i'm new to these forums, and i'm sad that my first thread has to be about this :nono:

I was in an accident today, and pretty much got my front end messed up pretty bad. Needs a new bumper, hood, turn signals.. the whole package.

I'm not looking for an exact price, but for an estimate on how much it should be for repairs..

Also, how much would i be able to part it out for? :3d_frown:

it's a 1988 supra turbo by the way.IMG_2181.JPGIMG_2179.JPGIMG_2180.JPG

far to much to consider rescuing. From what Ive seen , mk3's in the states are damn cheap so if you've done a lot of work on the engine and want to keep it , get a rolling shell and transplant it into that. If its just a stock mk3, id say buy another mk3 (if you are so inclined) and keep this one for parts that you will invariably need

or

you could part this one out and put the money from that towards your next car.

Unless you are a D.I.Y'er, know people in the a70 scene and are extremely good with bodywork, individual panels + paint matching would be far above the value of the actual car.

ah, damn..sucks to hear that.

How much do you think I can part it out for? an approximation. 80k miles on the motor, pretty much stock except for hks throttle body, hks bov, hks piping, other small stuff..nothing major.

I got her for 2.7k, so i'm hoping to make at least half or more back.. :/

Can't really say how much you will make. It's an 88 so not really one of the more desired years and then you have to take it all apart and wait for people to buy it.

Prolly be easier to buy another car that has a blown motor for cheap and swap everything over.

I'm not that mechanically inclined yet, I wouldn't have the knowledge/funds to do a swap. You're in Arizona and i'm in Modesto, that would be quite the drive :p.

I'm guessing my best option as of right now is to part out the car.

My mk3 was my DD so i'm left without a car anyways haha :/. Yes, it still starts. The towtruck guy turned the car on and pretty much drove the car up the towtruck ramp. I wouldn't drive it though, because some intercooler piping got bent and I don't want to risk doing more damage.

an yes, it's a 5spd

id have to see more pics to tell. if the main unibody is bent then it can get real expenisvie fast. but as for swaping the motor etc to another shell, its super easy, as its just unbolt, unplug and switch.
