Um lets see....... first it needed an new rear rotor 50$ then pads 4 both sides about 20$ brake proporting valve 10$ from junk yard. A couple of brake lines 5$ frm yard. Then I needed master brake slave, Car Quest 130$.Drove car with whole fam to beach(Wife and 2 kids) on the way car wanted to overheat. Purchased new rad cap 9$, and thermostat 12$ Car was good to beach and back (3hr drive after installing) oh almost forgot had to buy rachet and socket because I left tools at home. Lets see oh yeah car was on spare and two tires were no good and wrong size. 300$ in new tires one Sumitomo tire to match the existing one from Sears on sale was 130$.Did someone say something about KY! 'cause I needed some then. Drove the car 4 about a week everything good. Went to service garage ask to check HG 4 me and they said it was good. Took car on road trip from MI. to NY car wanted to overheat but didn't. Once in Brooklyn put in new water pump 38$ while I was at it put in new plugs and wires 32$ for wires about 10$ for NGK plugs. All this work I have done myself so far. While in NY car shuts off on Highway. Despite having tools can't source the problem. 180$ for tow to friends shop that specializes in Supras. 40$ for him to find wires touching and blowing my EFI fuse. Get to Michigan with eractic temp guage starting from NJ. Purchase new rad 166$ from Advacnced Auto. Car runs fine. Go to beach again with fam 4hr ride roundtrip. On the way back eratic temp guage. Suspecting the worst BHG. Also notice slight rod knock (While n Brooklyn). 986$:icon_evil so far had car less than 2mo's. In case your wondering I paid 2,500 for the car itself. So now as I write this I am putting the top part of the motor back together because just like u I simply can't afford to have someone do it 4 me notice I did not include the money I spent on parts for the BHG which came up to 146$ I am a sub in the school system here in MI. so I don't work during the summer and we live on my wife's income alone God bless her while I Mr.mom it during the summer and trust me when I say we r struggling right now paying bill with an account that seems to stay in overdraft. Can't wait 4 school to start! I feel your pain and please believe u r not alone. Just like u I fully intend on doing these bearings myself with the help of these wonderful people on Supramania 'cause this site is like a Godsend 4real. So keep your determination 'cause that will make all of your goals materialize and be patient its gonna happen u just have to make it happen. Sorry 4 the long winded post but I right there with u. Its so meaningful that you posted that, honestly. I walked in the garage today and for about 5 mins I starred, wondered, can I really do this? Then I got into my moms car (its what I got to drive) and Im just jammin some music and again like always, it gets me pumped. Im not married, but my GF and I are headed that way, no kids yet but we want them. I also paid $2500 from a friend for my car, who still expects his $300 a month regardless that the car isnt running right now, if this were reverse situation, Id say hang on and fix the car for now. He makes WAYYYY more than enough, is married and just got a $165,000 house, and hes MY AGE! (21)

ANWAYS, yup, all has to be done myself, and you know what? Im fucking enjoying it. Ive got 3 friends or so who just keep saying, take it to a mechanic and get it fixed faster....the ONLY thing holding me back Now is cash, so how the fuck can I afford a mechanic and have it done faster? I said this and he kept on...
Ive bought various things for the car so far, I dont recall having all the problems you have yet, but I got the biggest one now. I got lucky my friend has a hoist and stand I can borrow for as long as I need it. Thats more shit I can knock off the list...
Thanks man for the support it really does help, especially like I said when close friends dont even believe in me. You ever need any help just ask, I dont know it all but you would be amazed at teh research I have done this past month the cars been out and Ive had to sit at home.
