I see one problem with them. The side of the bed is quite curved and is not the same shape as the hilux bed. It would take some crafty sculpting to get them to look decent and I don't want the bedside to be messed with. I might be wrong about the curve, but it would take some measuring to check it. Next time I see one in a parking lot I can whip out some measuring equipment to check it for curvature.

Although, I am not really interested in discussing the tail lights to any more length right now. So I will move on...

Here is a new discussion:
Earlier I listed that I plan to use a megasquirt and I not sure about a few things that an experienced supra standalone guy would know.
I have been looking into buying this one: http://www.diyautotune.com/catalog/diypnp-nippon-denso-52pin-unassembled-kit-p-390.html
Reason number one: It is affordable. And I can do everything required to get it to work.
I plan to run waste spark using is300 ign module (non-multiplex). Also semi-sequential injection. (3 pairs) And speed density.
Some questions I have now and may have more...
Should I use the 7m stepper ISC or something else? This unit supports the stock isc and I think it would have more precise control over other options.
Where should I put the IAT sensor? I have seen it before the turbo, before TB, after TB on different setups. I think right before the TB, but not quite sure.
Is there a more dependable TPS that I can use? Should I use a different one? I had bad connection issues with the oem.

the 2 wire pwm idle controll solenoids work awesome. I've used them with megasquirt in the past with good results. also the sequential injection is 2 channel not 3 unless they've changed it.

Um, nick, I don't think you understand. The megasquirt is affordable.

Sequential injection is an optional add on. Up to 4 channels sequential. (Uses only one output for 3 channels)
http://www.diyautotune.com/catalog/diypnp-upgrade-sequential-injection-kit-p-386.html

The MS can indeed now control the stepper isc.
http://diyautotune.com/diypnp/docs1_5/diypnpn52/n52_adapter_board_assembly.html
although, I noticed it says sequential inj cannot be used with stepper control. I'll have to look into that.

If the stepper driver uses too many outputs, I may use the ford 2-wire. I would like to get boost control out of this too. But not mandatory. I might even be able to control the water/meth inj.

And thanks gennro for that link about the cps. I was thinking I would go a different way, but this will be a lot easier since the MS is already programmed for that signal type.

As I recall, these Ford IACs can be remote mounted with vacuum lines. Very convenient for swappers.

Thay make 2 different versions one Flange mount the other with -10 barbs.

I made an adaptor for a bud's GTE to run a flange mount and have ran the barb type here before.
(actually I think I still have one here somewhere)

Ok, so I will show you what I have been up to...
First I started to move along and built a intake pipe for the SC using 2.5" pipe. I already had a box of piping that size. It is the same size as the inlet of the SC.
attachment.php

I just was not satisfied with that size. I wanted to run a 70mm TB and that would be a bit larger than the pipe after and before it. I might as well use the stock TB. So I had to decide if larger pipe is worth the extra expense. I would get 2.75" because it would support the power I am looking for. However it would ram into a 2.5" inlet at the SC. So I did some careful measuring and planning and came up with 3" piping and a 75mm TB and this:
attachment.php

Here is a comparison of the old inlet next to the new inlet:
attachment.php

If this was not going on a twincharged setup, this would be completely unnecessary.
And here is the new 3" pipe mounted to the SC.

Thanks.
I can only hope it will run by the end of the calendar year. I still need to open up the engine to see what went wrong when it was in the supra. It had low compression on a couple of cylinders. Ran it lean or too much advance. Either way, it was pinging a little, then it lost some power. Not sure if I blew rings out or blew the HKS MHG. If it is just the HG, it should speed things up a little, and I would spring for the 'good' one.

I ordered my megasquirt yesterday, so I will have some fun with that for a while.

Pulled the engine and stripped it down to see what went wrong. Melted #1 piston a little on the side. Surprisingly there was no scaring on the cyl or head. It is clean enough to drop another piston in and run it. I would rather build it with my forged pistons. Also the crank was damaged a little on the balancer end by the balancer. Not much and it wasn't loose but enough to replace it for this build. I have to track one of those down. In good enough shape. I think I will buy an ATI balancer. I am through with the oem balancer. I have seen too many cranks destroyed by the oem balancer. Not even high power apps. This will be my first engine to build that I am not rushed to get through. Every other engine I built was either in my daily driver or a paying job. I finally get to try some things. Mostly oil system mods.

I have heard of other people reusing a mhg. I don't know if I would try that. It doesn't seem like it would be as effective as a new one. It has already been crushed. Any input on this?
