It's both really, a critical velocity failure just happens at much higher speeds and wouldn't be quite dangerous...

Also, aluminum will work harden, the steel won't...

Jawsgear states "No garuntee against vibration in this aftermarket application." That doesn't seem right. I would want it balanced and guaranteed if I spent that much.

Looks like Shaftmasters is likely to get my business. They seem to have the best service and quality.

I have been a little preoccupied. To sum it up, I'm a dad! I will not be working on the project for a little while, so I will have to dig this thread out in a month or so to let you know my progress. I certainly won't be forgetting about it.

Thanks

I don't know about 'nice', but it is functional. Certainly not show quality. It is meant to be a street machine. Put to shame all those big egos driving around out there. HA!

Got brakes! No pics though. Not much to see here. Just a supra brake system on a pickup. I am using the MC, proportioning valve, hoses, calipers, rotors, etc.
All of the lines for the MC and Prop valve and front brakes fit with a little manipulation. PV bolted to the strut tower. Even the heat shield near the downpipe fits. I modified the pickup lines from the rear axle to fit the rear brake delivery. Ran a new line to connect it to the front system.
If I find too much brake biasing, I will invest in an adjustable PV. Until then, the oem will have to do.
Maybe I should have gotten some pics...

BTW: Thanks for all of the comments, it really helps me feel like I am doing something right. right?

Looks like some pretty solid work going into this beast.

Not a big fan of the back end though.
Keep the pictures coming.

A little update. I have been trying to acquire things I need for various aspects of the build. I have also been doing some wiring and body work on the front. I also decided to build a intake manifold so that was started last weekend. (after acquiring a spoolmate to weld aluminum) I may decide to build a couple more of these but it depends on how it goes. So here are a few pics to tease those of you who are still following.
