im ready to take my block and head and block to the machine shop to be decked how much should i get decked off?i plan on pushing mid 400's through college and going 600+ when i get out of college.what ever else u need to know to give me a exact number ask.the motor is going to get done at racetech.

I would assume the minium to get the head/deck true. Then pick your headgasket, not the other way around.

Tell them to take off the minimum they can while still getting you a perfect sealing surface. Then get the numbers for what they took off and use that to calculate your head gasket thickness.
If you've got the wrong one, sell it and order another one.
im in the same boat here....i heard from jon(MDC) to take the front plate from the motor in with it too so they can make sure to get it at a perfect 90 degree angle
