BHG +/- 250 rwhp.
:3d_frown: Is this the most commonly asked question, or what? How about something more like this -
"Hey guys, before I go modifying my car and killing another Supra, what weak points should I know about these cars?"
Well, I'm glad you asked! The head gasket, from the factory, is undertorqued. A lot of people will tell you to go MHG and don't look back, but I ask you what your goals are. If you want to run a little more than stock boost (up to about 12) and that's really it, then a stock headgasket + ARP head studs will serve you fine. Be sure you check that looooong head for straightness, and if it requires any machine work, get the timing plate machined as well, to avoid a nasty leak there. Some have gotten away with just retorquing the head gasket (I did, for about 8 months) but in the end, you will tear into there eventually.
Other than that, check out all your electrical connections. The car is almost 20 years old, after all!
And to answer a question that you had in a previous post, the most cost effective way of modifying ANY engine, is to VERIFY that you are running AT LEAST as good as the day it came off the factory floor. Do a compression test. Check your timing belt for slack. Check your timing.
Otherwise, your chances of killing it go up astronomically.
