you can have a paint job for a lot less then you guys are paying lol i painted my crx about a year ago cost me about 600 after it was all said and done about 400 for basecoat, cleatcoat, primer, and reducers/activators and 200 in sandpaper tape paper. did all the work my self and it turned out great. on a side note i did get access to the paint booth for free but even if i would have had to rent one thats about another 100.

If your on a tight budget singal stage paints can look very good and are a lot cheaper but your limited on the colors and what not you can get no pearls or candys and only light metalics hell when i get the money i'm just going to do the body work on my car block it ,mask it, and take it to macco and have them spray it prob just a nice singal stage base white urathane and in the gen i'll prob cost me 500 when its all said and done

A good paint job I'd be proud of costs at least $3500, yes you can do your own work but you can't put a price on a good paint job. I know this will turn out how the cheaper Supra owners cut corners and cheap out but if you want it done good and if you want it done right, be prepared to pay.

or... not suck and u can do a 3000$ job urself? granted it takes practice that a lot of people dont have time or money to do. but same with engine work. how many people here save big bucks doing theyre own engine work? its still quality(most the time lol)

Check out Hot Rod Magazine from a couple of months ago. They did an article where they painted an old Falcon with Rustoleum and a paint roller!
Not that I would, but you could
i've done 2 vehicles this way. one was my step van i keep all my tools in (since i live on a military base and have no garage). i had maybe $10 in that job lol. 2 gallons of mis-colored paint at a paint shop $5. it was still white though. a couple rollers and some spray primer. it looks %100 better than it did when i got it. my other one was my 82 toyota pickup. looks great too! thinking about doing my soupie that way if i can find the paint i want. but, i am not out there for a show car paint job either. lots of your antique tractor and equiptment guys use brushes. that takes some perfection though!
