If it has 80k miles on it and its a grafite gasket... dont turn boost up.... you will have a bhg in no time...

depends on the condition of the motor......but from my experience, i have a pretty low mileage 7MGE....i bough it rebuilt/remanufactured and drove NA for a bit then decided to slap on a turbo with associated electronics/fuel....been boosting 12-13 psi for the past few years on arps and oem headgasket and it still seems to be fine.

lookin to go big turbo in the summer tho

With no work on the head or block? Were both checked for absolute straightness?

Do not be surprised if you get a leak or two in that gasket.

If you mean completely stock, with NA pistons,
I would say little if any........:nono:

You will need low compression pistons & MHG at least !

I agree 100% with the fart in the throttle body comment. :naughty:

Cripes, here we go again.

Anyone telling you how much 'boost' you can push through your engine is outright guessing.

Especially when nobody has asked you things like what turbo, intercooler, IC pipes, IC pipe routing, headwork, fuel injector size, fuel pump type, fuel type, ambient temps in your area, ... I could keep asking for RELEVANT factors here all day.

What you should be asking is how much horsepower your engine is good for, and you should be telling people everything you possibly can about your planned setup and the environment you are going to run it in.

THEN you should take their numbers with a massive load of salt, take it to a local dyno shop, strap it down, and keep turning up the boost while monitoring your air fuel ratio, exhaust gas temperature, AND listening for knock with a set of electric ears. When the EGTs get to high, you start to hear knock, or your AFR starts to get lean, you need to stop, back it off a bit, do a final run to see where your power levels are, and then compare that to what the guys here predicted.
