Stock and well maintained almost indefinite, mine had been driven hard on many a twisty road and the shell was showing signs of fatigue (doors, hatch and Targa no longer aligned properly) Stress cracks and failures wouldn't have been far behind.

How many miles were on the chassis?

I got 500,000 kms out of my 7M-GE, and pulled it because I wanted to upgrade. (The blown coolant hose behind the water pump was the excuse to get the budget past my wife.)

Lol how does a $10 hose get you a gte motor...

Probably went a little something like this.. "Well that hose requires you to dissasemble pretty much the entire engine, and it's just simpler with the engine out of the car.. And this engine is getting tired.. So I may as well just get a new one."

I owned the car 13 years, it had around the 300,000+ kms mark on it so about 186K miles, I'd say 6>7 years were around the 500rwhp and it used to sustain .95G cornering.

The Shell was very sad towards the end NOTHING opened/closed like it used to even with careful adjustments on a semi regular basis.

I didn't tell her that it was a $10 hose. I told her that "It's broken, and it's just as easy to replace it with THIS one."

Besides, blown coolant hose on freeway = overheat, which meant that it wasn't likely to be a simple matter of replace hose, refill coolant, drive. Also, after 500,000+ kms, it kinda needed more stuff, too. The valve stem seals were pretty crunchy, main seals... It really needed a general overhaul, so the extra to buy the parts car really wasn't extra. I also probably got almost as much for the parts from the parts car that I didn't use to pay for it.

The extra cost for the project was for the Spearco replica IC, the Lexus AFM and 560cc injectors, Walbro FP...
