Kind of off topic.

But with the stock oil coolers say I needed or wanted to add some length to the lines (hoses) what type of hose should I use ?

And where can I purchase it.

Most hose supply places can hook you up w/ATF resistant hoses. Autoparts stores rarely have them, but I've scored 'em there too. Try Goodyear or other hose & pipe supply. There's a Stuart's hose place I use in TX.

So just go buy some fuel line from autozone still deciding where I want to move the cooler it sits behind the intercooler at the moment.

Does anyone know the size of the line for the factory pipe cooler? I was thinking maybe it would be easier to cut the factory line and use a flare tool and run lines from there. Rather than running a soft line all the way from the pump to the cooler and then soft lines from the cooler to the res.

Any fuel/oil resistant hose will work, the Cooler circuit is in the return so is low pressure

Exactly... Do NOT use regular heater hose. It will gunk up your PS system (= FUBAR).

And what's wrong with that?

Mine sits there. Only space I have for it.

I'm just gonna use the factory oil cooler. Far too small for the oil but I think its perfect for power steering

the 89 to 92 are the best one to run fits well and is in good spot for flow and there not like 86 to 88 were it just simple tube

I did run a stock 7m oil cooler as a cooler once but they don't work as good since they have a larger drop in flow (you could fix this be increasing the size of the reservoirs thou)

best to use b&m unit or perma-cool unit

perma being the best but easy to bend fins and plug with air born crap

so if you going for the best perfoamce I side-jest a perma cool unit of some sort they make many diffrent sizes

the pressure drop shouldn't be a problem since it is on the return side (barely any pressure to begin with).
I doubt it would cause a restriction in the system

I guess its fine but mine is kinda a tight fit and not mounted very well definitely need to re think the mounting.

Does anyone have a diagram or picture of these setups with the coolers ran for the p.s
I've been following but something visual would help me personally understand a lot better.

The stock cooler runs along the frontside of the bumper and the in/out is oriented towards the reservoir on the passengerside. When you swap 1j/2J, the PS pump & reservoir is on the opposite side. Now, you run new hose from the reservoir on the driver's side, to the cooler and to the PS Rack. The stock cooler's ports are on the opposite side and the cooler has to be moved in order to accommodate a front-mount intercooler. So, run shorter hoses to an aftermarket cooler and install it behind the IC... I mounted mine on the radiator, facing the A/C condensor. Hope the pics help...
