How long have you owned yours?

Very cool guys :)

I know several people that sold theirs and in less than a month regretted it. Never been able to explain to outsiders the reasoning behind the obsession/passion of the car. There's something about the essence the MKIII has that I have always loved.

Hey man! Guess who?

I've had mine for around 2 years now. I've driven it for maybe 2 months. That must be the essence of the MKIII :biglaugh:

Bought mine in Nov.2008.
Drove it 40km home and parked it infront of my house, left it running to cool down and went inside to take a leak. Came back out and she died, hasn't ran since. 2 months later Toyota still hasn't been able to get her running again.

my dad gave me his mk2 supra auto to drive after i got my license and i crashed it in the first 3 months. After fixing it, a month and half later it was caught in a hit and run and that was over. I sold it for 250 bucks to some mexicans only because I found a worned down supra mk3 targa turbo for 1,460 dollars. It was in fair shape, clutch was slipping, previously in a crash and the bodywork after was shit, but when I laid eyes on it I feel there's so much I could do for it. Despite not knowing how to drive manual I bought it and I've spent a month in the winter weather practicing how to drive manual without anyone teaching me. It took me longer than most but I've gain the necessary experience and skills to drive under slippery conditions. I've had it for the past 6 years but spent 3 of that driving in rain and snow and the other half I spent restoring it with some good aftermarket parts. I intend to keep it for the rest of my life and pass it on to my next generation. And I've also never crashed once since that time over 7 years ago with the mk2. The supra mk3 taught me how to properly drive and develop a sense for the road.

Bought my roommates '82 10 years ago, fixed it all up, sold it for an '87na. Fixed that all up, sold it, bought an '88T, fixed that, then bought a black '90T. I'm keeping this one till I find that mint '92 teal, can't afford two, sigh. Needless to say I'm a bit addicted.

I have a 1988 N/A. Got it Dec. 1996. Was a DD for a few years, then decided to park it. Had in storage for 5 or so years. In process of a major rebuild, suspension, rebuilding the engine, engine bay clean up.

I have had mine since 5/18/08, so far it has been a great relationship. I have had a ton of fun, taken the car out to a road course etc. and only done basic maintenance and upgrades to it as well as use it as a dd during the non wintery months in the good old state of WI. I plan to keep the MK3 as a civilized 300-350whp dd type car and add an MK4 with a single garret gt4088R once I get out of college to have that major HP kick. The Mk3 will be the car the GF likes and the mk4 can be the one that's too loud and she hates, but will have around the 600whp mark and see the road course regularly. so hopefully in about a year I will have 2 supras and a shitty winter car (im thinking volvo station wagon, rwd for fun in the winter :) )

i've had a total of 4 supras, all turbo since 2003. i've had 2 87's, an 88, and my current 90. the 90 i've had since march of 08, this is the first jz swap i did to a supra. my built 7m with the ron r turbo kit was still the fastest... still a lot faster than my jz =(

I got mine in June of 04, I was almost 17. I didn't really know anything about the MKIII when I bought it, I liked the way it looked and being RWD and turbo made it more desirable. I found i-supra.com and browsed that for a few months before coming here. I daily drove it until December 2006. Its all paid for, and the insurance doesn't cost that much so I have no reason to sell it.

I'm glad I'm not the only crazy old timer here. Got mine in 1992, I think. It's like an old pair of shoes that are too comfy to get rid of.
