Im confused...

Have you tried our for sale section here on SM? Craigslist? Its not hard to find a running turbo, its all about how much you want to spend.

Never seen one of those...

Ya know some of you guys dont do anything to help the perception of the general public towards your cars and their reliability. If you want to see your cars appreciate in value I suggest you start trying to change that.

If you search hard enough, you'll find some for about $3000 (87-88 models) with about 140k+ miles, but most of those are auto, not too sure if you want an auto. even if those ARE running, their bone stock and can gaurantee that most are running the stock head gasket and/or not up to date with maintenance. you're best off either doing a swap or spending 1-2gs more for a decent mk3 and when you think about it, its worth the extra 1-2gs.

These cars will be a money pit.

Finally, the day where I can correct IJ .

But In all seriousness, you'll "pay" during your Supra ownership one way or another, either by buying a cheap car and spending many times it’s initial price to bring it up to scratch , by paying the premium and buying a good car in the first place or having to deal with a sub-par vehicle that is going to get ran into the ground rather quickly through lack of parts/maintenance

Take your time, buy with your head and not your heart and remember that 9 times out of 10, you get exactly what you pay for.

Good luck.

Ugh, I really don't like this statement. These cars are easy to maintain and run well when they've been cared for.

Trash the car, or buy one that has already been trashed and it won't be reliable until you fix it right.

All that being said, they can easily be a money pit, but what fun, sports car isn't a money pit?

Here, I did a little work for you. Nice looking, with a fresh quality rebuild, beautiful interior with an automatic. It needs just a little minor body work, but the price is fantastic. This one looks to have reliability built in. All stock with a metal head gasket and 3" exhaust.
