That doesn't really test your typing skill. Just how fast you can memorize the alphabet sequence of keys. I got up to around 110 words per minute back in high school, but I haven't used any programs that check it recently. I'd estimate I average around 80-90 wpm.

[edit] 7.953 after three tries. I'm not spending any more time on it than that. (lower score is better, I'm assuming) [/edit]

Hmmm... 5.067 on the first try. But it would be much more interesting if you had to type a "real" text or something, instead of just the alphabet. That's quite lame :3d_frown:

6.032 for me, I had to take a typing course in school too. Got up to 80-90 wpm, but now all I do is type while Im at work so I should be much faster by now!

Im with encomiast they should have made it so we actually had to type a sentence or two instead of the alphabet.

The real question is what keyboard your using, Qwerty or dvorak. i cant remember what % faster people are when they use dvorak. <- spelling?

Neither nor... QUERTZ here :D
Dvorak looks quite interesting, but I've never seen such keyboards in person. Might try to re-label the keys on my keyboard and try to find a Dvorak keyboard driver for Windows, lol.
But IMO a Dvorak layout will only give you an advantage when it comes to typing real world texts, in this particular "typing test" you probably won't notice any difference.

Much, much, much faster since I joined a couple of these forums.
If all my car related skills does not come in handy in the future, at least I can thank the forums for making me a better writer.
Wish I was this good when I had to write/type those papers out!
