How does a VPC work?

Im currently looking to remove the Lex afm and possibly go VPC, i know very little about it and i was wondering if anyone on here has it or use to use it. And maybe could explain it to me, and how well you like it? Im also curious as to how you do tuning with the VPC. Thanks!

a lie..

it converts MAP pressure into a frequency signal to feed the ECU. In otherwords scaling based on the Programmed ROM.

Works well but always limited to the stock TCCS for tuning and control.

Incorrect

the chip is already programmed. A ROM not PROM. It does not use any feedback from wideband system. It relies on the stock TCCS working.

i just thought VPC would be a much simpler way to go.. then agian i dont know much about either... what would the benifits be from getting rid of the lex afm?? im able to run like 27psi with the lex. would i really gain any power from going VPC or maft pro?

The only way a VPC is much easier is if you have the OLD 7m jumper harness for the VPC. Otherwise if hardwiring, it is as complicated as the rest of the piggybacks to include the emanage, MAFT-Pro etc.

You could too go piggyback to your ecu and still run MAP, I don't know if you have heard of Powerhouse ecu, which is just a piggyback system that is com programmable and runs off of MAP.

I dont know however what everyone's feeling is on the Powerhouse MAP-Ecu.

Go with maft pro. It a little complicated for everyone that bought it at 1st. Just do a good amount of reading. It has alot of functions for its price. Slowley but surely you will understand how it works and all the potentials it has. To me its like having a scan tool or having 20 diffewrnt gauges in one box.thats just one advantage. Then the ultimate tuning. Your car will run totaly differnt after. You wont go back to maf again. I had a hard time understanding first but i read the same thing liek 20 times and now the brain and maft pro are starting to connect. there is still more...

I'm actually at this road right now, I want to get rid of the lex, 550, and go with either the map-ecu, and maftpro. I'm confused on maftpro, I know it does more and all that, but there's a lot of jargon that you have to go through. I like map-ecu cause I can get rid of the maf, but it only does a little bit.

What about vF though? Is that issue fixable with maftpro/mapecu?
