You can make a great puller, out of a cheap 3/8 extension. I made a drawing of the one I made a while ago. All you need is a grinding wheel of some sort, and something heavy enough, with a hole big enough to go over the shaft, but not the receiver at the end. A large 1/2 in drive socket worked for me. Just make sure you angle it a little at the front as shown, and it will work great.

I used a few pieces of white bread...heard about it from my old v8 days...worked quite well. Old one with a bolt, nut and washer made a nice driver to put the new one with...
