So i bought a 89+ bumper to convert my 87 bumper... i just like the look of the 89+ bumper better. anyway.. it comes in.. and its only wrapped in plastic.. i cut open the plastic (which already has tons of tears and cause scratches.. many of them pretty deep) very easily to reveal....

as you can see the lower grill area has a few cracks...

the metal bracket behind the cover is bent..

my main concern is the lower portion of the bumper... is it fixable? and how do i go about doing it.. i dished out quite a bit of $$ for this.. and i dont wanna jsut buy another one.. scratches i dont mind because eventually i'll be painting the car anyway

the seller dropped it off at ups. ups said they;d wrap it up nice.. i hate ups lol
i was hoping to see a giant cardboard box or a combination of boxes.

I would blame the seller they obviously didn't package it well enough to survive shipping. UPS isn't going to box it up or anything unless you pay extra for that, you're lucky they put plastic on it.

i sent him a message and he said it didnt look too bad and that he'll try to contact ups about the shipping insurance on his end for me.

UPS(I work for them) isn't going to do anything because it was poorly packaged. Unless he has a receipt showing he paid extra for them to package it, it's his fault. The person at UPS may very well have said they would wrap it up but it should be the seller who stood there and watched them do it. Otherwise, it's the sellers fault and I would start the paypal dispute/credit card dispute.

Not that any of that helps you fix it sorry...

Did you buy it from someone here? If so, I would open a dispute if they are not willing to make it right. I would say it neccesitates a refund, and he either pays you to ship it back, or lets you keep it.

If I was stuck with it I would probably cut out the grille, and try to straighten then reinforce the lower section with steel stock.
