how do i change my transmission fluid??

i just got my car so i dont know how to do it? the gears grind a little.the previous owner took good care of the supra but i dont think he knew he had a highperformance car so he proably just used standard fluid.i want to use redline or royal purple .whats better?

where the drain plug at and the refil point also?

"grind a little"....I think the previous owner knew he had a high performance car. There's a plug to drain and plug to check manual tranny. See image here

the bottom plug to drain - above it to fill and check level. Fill till it overflows. I use the bottles and a cheap piece of hose from auto store that I toss when done.The plugs are M10 (30,40) and you will see them - I think the 1/2 rachet end fits right into the square but can' remember for sure



There's a section posted on this site about the tranny and rear end oil pro's and cons. My tranny shifts into any gear with no grind.
I raised the front onto ramps to get under myself and changed it twice - once to get the old stuff out and then again so its ALL new stuff rinsed out.

and an easier way to fill the transmission is take apart the center console so you can take the shifter out, and then put a funnel into the shifter hole and fill it through that. works SO MUCH easier then using the fluid pump things...
