He could always check which way the propeller is spinning on top of his head.

Maybe that would be a good indication of the problem. ;)

Does it sound like that when you shift?

If so, that's your compressor side stopping your turbine side from spinning with exhaust gas flow when the throttle plate closes, and that's only bad if you happen to like your turbo.

Stock BOV may not be connected properly, or as Grim pointed out, not able to handle the flow.

yea, thats the sound. checked lines, there good. i am looken at getting one of the BOV from synapse engineering. just haven heard anything good or bad about them. every one said that they hold better than HKSs SSQV.

I haven't had any bad experiences with my synapse yet, and I've had both that and the real HKS SSQV before, I prefer what I have now ;).

I can't even believe I'm responding to this. :3d_frown:

The only way to make a turbo spin 'backward' is to have air flowing backward. The turbo does not go 100k rpm to 0, the turbo is trying to spin forward, but air is forced back while the turbo is still spinning the air forward. This causes the 'chuffing' sound - air pressure builds up, forces past the turbo, and the turbo continues to spin, causing, again, the chuffing. The reason this is so hard on the bearings, is because of the pressure wave running directly across the compressor.

your turbo is not going to "spin" backwards. Check elsewhere. I have seen thousands of turbos and none have spun backwards.....on a ct you would have to pretty much need twice as much air flowing back through the exhaust. Your "friend" is full of shit. What would a turbo sound like running backwards? I may have to find a junk pos and find out now. It will take alot of air pressure and volume to do so but it may be worth it. I'll post the video clips if I find a turbo and engine to do it to.
