How are your stores ammo shelves looking in your state?

Because let me tell you... In Gunowneropolis Indiana.... It's literally unbearable.

All local gun shops and big retailers (Wal-mart, Gander Mountain, Rural King, etc) rarely get or never have .22lr, .223/5.56, 9mm, .40s&w or .45acp.

I was just curious if the rest of the US is hurting as badly as we are here. If you are... I feel for you. If you aren't, you need to send some my way. :naughty:

Same here. Ranges tend to have ammo around here, but at range prices.

I bought some .45 ACP from Pierce Outfitters this past week. They seem to have things in stock.

I'll let you guys know what it looks like when it gets here.

I live in a smaller city and its still awful, nothing in handgun ammo, and then the common rifle like .556 .308 etc. I go up and ask for .40 and I almost got laughed at the last time I checked the local store.

Here in TN, Nothing....all of it's gone....

Gun owners are like people from the south, hear the word snow they buy all the milk/TP/Flour/Eggs out of the store in a panic....

.22lr going for $50 a brick....same shit would have $15 pre-panic
.45/.308/7.62x39/9mm/.380/.17hmr all gone...

Panic is what's causing this, when nothing will be passed.

In Texas the only ammunition I can't find is .223, .22LR, 9mm, and .40. I can find 7.62x39 and 5.45x39 if I look hard enough. 7.62x54R is plentiful just got a 440rd spam can for $75.

Well.......... I was really hoping that Indiana was just all by itself next to the other extreme pro-gun states... But you're all having about the same luck as I am.

Standard reports for the last couple weeks here:
Go to any gun shop or range, and you'll find ammo there fairly overpriced. (I can find .223/5.56 all day but the cheap stuff goes for $17.50/20rds). Same goes for .22lr/9mm/40s&w/45acp.
I've become a regular at the 3 Wal-marts in my area almost every day of the week waiting for shipments... which they do get, it's just inconsistent and there are people always waiting for them to unload it.

Thank God I started reloading last year before all the knee-jerk reactions. Before, it was a fight to reload enough to save money. Now, it's nearly my only option.

The stuff from Pierce Outfitters looks decent now that I have it in hand. Haven't had a chance to shoot it yet, but at least it looks well made.

It's Not Important Bro
Work part time at one of the largest gun dealers in the nation. Been there 5 years. Never seen anything like it.

The policy as of today is :
One box per customer per caliber per day - 9mm, 40, 45, 223, 5.56, 22LR
If you purchase a gun, you may buy three boxes.
We are at about 15% of average inventory. Freight comes in 3 days a week and each day, their will be 15 to 25 customers lined up before the doors open. We rabid down here in Alabama for sure.

The wasted square footage that is where ammo used to be displayed is under-utilized / EMPTY. Management is tinkering with the idea of putting fishing lures in the empty space.

One Gun per customer per week also, that is a company policy.

Clarksville TN
walmart in Clarksville TN is usually pretty stocked. If they aren't then I know for a fact Allen's Gun Store in Clarksville is. Those guys will sell the store before then let ammo run low.

Prices though? I'd be fine just finding a brick or two of .22lr at this point...
