Are you using the same kind I am using Toyman?

Whats a dry hop?

I have the M/T ET Street radials 255/50/16
I just noticed I missed your link to the tires you have, mine are the one's in the first link, I have no exp. with the ones you have. I only thought they made one DR.

a dry hop is after you do the burnout, some guys with big slicks do it. It is just a quick full throttle burst after your burnout is complete.

I would bet that the problem is more track prep than anything, but I wasn't there. were others having traction problems when you were there??

so, were you doing excessive burnouts Reign_Maker? perhaps the tires were getting too hot?

I just looked at the video again, and in my first run, you can see my full burn out... I did a ten second burn out with a dryhop at the end... When I took off, I just did a burn out off the line...

Toyman: I think Im going to sell mine and buy a set like yours, or maybe the Nitto 555 drag radials... I dunno, but I do know Im going to put some research into it... Or I might just get straight up slicks...

As for the track, it was pretty well prepped... EC Dragway is pretty good about bein sticky... And there were alot of cats poppin off great numbers... So I cant blame the track... I feel like blaming the tires :D:D:D

yeah, sounds liek the burnout was too long, and also, i dont know anyone other then you that ever used those tires. i have nitto nt555r's and i love them. have a set of 275/50/15's im dedicating to track only use. havnt had a chance to mount them on the 15x7 enkie's i have, if they bulge too much ill buy some cheap centerline 15x9 rims to put them on. they wont get used much. and heat cyclingi is where they heat them up and cool them down a set number of times and usually shave a lil bit of the tread off. when you run your car at the track, feel how hot they are. they get real hot at high speeds. thats why you dont want to run tires with a 100mph speed rating at 160. the heat will cause a blowout and prolly kill you.

if i were you id just get mt drags next time since you have an extra set of wheels. thats what i plan to do. get some 26x10.5x15 et drags. though that wont be for a long while as the nittos i have for the 15's are new and lots of meat left. prolly take a ton of strip passes to wear them out.

I got a set of M/T ET Streets and I love em, they grip nice, the trick is to do a nice good burn out in the beginning and the rest of the night just do quick "clean up" burn outs (aka just to clean up the tires before the run). My friends Mk4 has ET DRs and they grip like a mother F'er on the streets, MT is my new brand of choice, I had Nitto555R's before and they SUCK MAJOR BALLS, Wheel hop and no traction off the line with em :( glad I sold them, pics of my ET Streets

Ya Reign, MT ET Streets here too 12-14psi depending. 7000rpm launch with clutch pedal rideage if there is such a word. And rear shocks set on full soft.

I have the ones in the second pic, and they didnt seem to grip for chit... Maybe I did burn out too long? Maybe I should've just wiped them with a small spin... I dunno... Im gunna try them one more time before i sell them, just to make sure... I mean, they grab nice on the streets... But...

Boost, what size are those wheels you have? How much were they? And are they heavy? What's the offset of them? Where can I get some, Summit, Jegs?

VAN: you do a 7000rpm launch? HOLY COW! From a 7M motor?

What kind of offset are you lookin at gettin Will for your 15s?

15x8 with 0 offset or 4.5in backspace(same thing) mine are 4 lug or id let you borrow them for a run at sunshine or something. currently i have the 15x7 enkie's with 0 offset(4in backspace) but will prolly buy a pair of steel wheels from diamondracing for the nitto's. i never had wheel hop with the nittos on the street. they are a harder compound then the mt drag radials, which is why i will continue to use nittos on the street. they grab great and will last longer the nthe mt dr's. after my 275/50/15 nittos are done ill buy full slicks, but when the 245/50/16 nittos are out, im getting another pair. i love them on the street. last longer then reg tires cause i dont burn them up spinning through 3rd gear on the street.

I have ET STREETS
et007.jpg

and the tires you are using looks to be the MT truck tires or offroading tires, they are terrible for drag racing because of their sidewall construction, time to get the first pic ya posted bro ;) btw, I wouldn't know what the offset of them are, because a local buddy that works for a tire warehouse got me the rims and tires for a good price :) about $250 or $275 for the rim and tire :) aight peace

Those black wheels are like $35 a piece. I had them on my Montero, but they didn't have the red/blue stripe on them. I got mine at 4wheelparts.com. They're steel so they're kind of heavy.
