hopefully an easy question

i just rebuilt a 7mge and the dipstick is loose and it leaks is there something special i should use to secure it with that will keep it from leaking or can i just use RTV black???

replace the o-ring where the tube goes into the block

I used a dab of RTV and seems to be holding up well.

is it a special oring or just a normal one??

I give the lower section of the tube a hit on it's side with a hammer to deform it slightly then a smear of RTV and tap it back into the block, end of problem.
