Hoods with cowl removed?

Is there such a thing?

I tried searching but came up empty. I'm just curious on how the MK3 would look with the cowl on the hood removed with the little extra piece on the front nose shaved off as well.

Doesn't have to be real it can be photoshop.

Funny you mention that, I was screwing around in paint and decided to see what it would look like; sorry if the colors are screwed up my monitor is near dead. But it looks decent on my screen :biglaugh:

I've been curious what it would look like with a "reverse cowl" you might call it. Something more like the mkiv hood (and a lot of other cars really). I've always been to lazy to photoshop it myself though.

I like the hood the way it is, it's a very strong line. I was always interested in the opposite, raising the cowl a little bit to vent air from the engine bay. Too easy to raise it too much and make it look weird though.

Look up user Facime or theWeezl, (same guy, switched names). I'm pretty sure that it was him that made the stock cowl hoods a bit bigger. They looked really nice. He did a good job.

The cowl is what makes the MKIII what it is. I love the rise in the nose panel as well (as I have a scoop there now.)

It looks like a 2nd gen RX-7, and it looks out of place without the cowl.

+1 the cowl is great! And the fender lumps. And the little bulge part in the back next to the quarter windows.

My vote is to keep the lines. Without the cowl it'll look too much like a Ford Probe.

Yes, I know the Probe has grooves in the hood - they're just not very obvious. The bumper is smooth. IIRC, the 240sx hood and nose is similar to the Probe's.
