LMAO @ $260 being too much.... :nono:

Not everyone is rich, some of us have to budget and spend our money on the important parts first, then worry about the rest of the car. A hood liner is not important. It saves the paint and reduces noise... that's it. Yeah, whatever Toyota charges for parts for a 25 year old car is fair considering they've been stocking them for that long, but that doesn't mean everyone wants to spend that much on a part that can be replaced with an aftermarket liner that costs $50 and works just as well.

The $50 liner I'm referring to is made by Thermotec, and works fantastic. You get a 48"x72" piece of liner that you cut to fit, and you retain it with factory clips. It's safe for 1500 degrees radiant heat.

Don't care who someone is rich or not if $260 is a lot of money they shouldn't be modding a Mk3, one of the biggest money pits in the automotive world ;)

260 is not to much for part. I just spent 400 yesterday on little things for the car. 260 for a hood liner is not going to happen that's not realistic when you can buy better aftermarket hood shield for 80 bucks. And a turbo blanket for 50

Im not cheap when it comes to my cars but almost 300 for a hood liner is stupid

Either way I have a hood liner to go on it . It was ugly and painted on I wanted a new one that looked better buy instead if 260 dollars I just cleaned mine real good.

Where the hell can I get a hood liner since Toyota discontinued them?

Try toyotapartszone.com. They source their stuff from a bunch of dealers so one of them might have one left in stock.

260 is cheaper than a paint job.
for me... not by much... (350 minus prep and actual cost of paint) I was thinking of throwing some gold reflective tape up under my hood... not sure how effective/costly that would be though

Call up your local or favorite Toyota dealer and ask for a quote for Part # 53341-14100

You'll also want the clips:
90467-08081
or
90467-11035

They're different types of clips. Taken from the online TSRM/EPC (prices are not accurate, prices have increased probably 20-30% from what I've seen ordering from my local dealer)
http://www.cygnusx1.net/Supra/Library/EPC/291410/catalog.aspx?F=5302&P=1

Numbers 53341B and 53341C

I know tons of folks with turbo cars that have no hood insulation, and they've had no issues with the paint... I mean come on, really? Then again, most folks run a turbo blanket.

mine will be ceramic coated, both the turbine housing and manifold. plus I got a turbo blanket for my turbine housing.

I also have a hood liner and even took the one off my parts car just in case.
