USE AT YOUR OWN RISK
So i am leaving to canada in about a week to do some road racing and i was thinking up a cheap cool idea that i could use to record my line and everyone else driving behind and in front of me.
Parts list:
Heavy Duty Dual suction cup (can be found at harbor freight) - $6
mini camera tripod (found at walmart) - $15
allen 6mm screws - $1
spacer - your gonna have to figure something out, i used part of a old fuse holder i had laying around.
Directions:
Its pretty simple, just unmount the camera holding mechanism from the tripod. It uses a single philips screw. Then drill a hole directly in the middle of the handle of the suction cup. and then mount camera. You may or may not want to use a space since if you dont use one you may loose slight adjustment ability, i ended up using a old fuse holder i had to make a space. It's very simple. This suction cup is rated for 200lbs so i'm sure that it will be more than adequate for what we need.
Final thoughts:
It seems very secure as long as you make sure the suction cups are fully suctioned. You may also use a single suction cup vs 2, it might be better because i noticed that you really have to find a flat part to stick it to on your car and since you have 2 suction cups is makes things kinda hard. I also wouldn't use a camera that is too heavy or one that uses tapes since the bumps will make the recording jittery.
