Sorry I tried to edit the name but apparently you can't do that and have it display for all to see. but a ot mod has now edited it..
how did you get the thread title edited?

Different circumstances - I can edit a thread title, sure - but it only shows in some locations. The main screen will show the edited title - but I don't think the search screens will...
Grim, I do appreciate that you did try on my thread.
I just thought that something may have changed on the forum or someone knew of a different place to edit thread title.
They were able change the way the title shows up on search.

There are 2 parts of a title for a thread, the actual thread title, and the post title. vBulletin allows editing the post title by users (thread title if we set it to -- us admins).
If you edit the thread title, it should change the thread title everywhere. I'm pretty sure the search engine does a lookup in the thread table for the titles, and does not store it itself. The search index is just a list of words and word ids, cross-referenced with posts. It has to look everything else up from other tables.
PS: She's too asian.

For the other guys who think that there's never 'too much asian', you have to look at it from a military perspective. Most in the service know that any loser can get an assignment to asia and come back with a wife. I hate to say it, but Korean and Philipino women are the most common for GIs to marry, and you will see quite a bit of jobs on-base filled by asian women.
Ha! Jeff & I are both Canadian. We barely have a military... and we sure as hell don't get posted to Asia even if we are part of the 0.5% of the population that signs up for the service!
