holset turbo

hey i know this guy who is selling a 60trim holset turbo and i was wondering if they are any good and for 150 bucks seems to good to be true if anyone has any experience with these it would be really helpful thanks.

holsets really are deals right now, i found one in the junkyard and they only wanted 50 for it. for 150 i say go for it.

so cryoslash are you running a holset? if so what kind of numbers you putting down and when you see full boost those things thanks for your help.

im not running a holset as i researched and could not find the right AR housing for that particular turbo. in other words it would have been waaay too laggy for my application (autox and track) but mdc was making 400 ish at the wheels at 10 psi? someone will correct me in here but im pretty sure it was close to that.

dang well that narrows it down for me im on a budget and looking to make some decent power so ya this is turbo for me thanks alot cryo.

That turbo is not the holset you want.

Look for either the hy35, the HE351CW (its the hy with the 90 deg snout off the front of the compressor housing), the hx35, or the hx40.

Hx35 all the way, with external wastegate of course. Im finishing my project in the next few weeks. Had a lot of problems fitting the turbo though. There wasn't enough room for the adapter for the external wastegate and the turbo it kept hitting the strut tower but finally got it to work. Will post some pics of the finished product when I get done.

thats a SMALL turbo. look at the second pic you posted. thats his foot in the pic, and its a t3 flange on the turbine side. id sy a upgraded ct26 would flow more.
