Hi guys, I got a holset hy35 for my 1j. I have been reading lots of thread discussing the oil lines. And I cannot find a definitive answer especially about the use of a restrictor for the oil feed line. So far from what I understand:
The threads on the holset are m12x1.5 so I will try to find a m12x1.5 to - 4an adaptor. Which I have been googling and I can't seem to find one. Should I be running a restrictor? I read somewhere that hy35's max out at 85 psi oil pressure and iirc my 1j has seen about 90 at wot.
And for the oil drain I will try to weld a -12 and bung to the stock oil pan drain tube.

So if anyone has a hy35 setup on their 1j, let me know what you are using.

I ran a hy35 on a 2jz and didn't run a restrictor. I found conflicting information about it and decided I'd rather have too much flow than not enough. Never had any problems.

For the drain, just unbolt the stock tube on bolt on an adapter, any standard oil return flange will fit. It's the same bolt pattern as the one that goes to the oil pan. I ran a -10an drain on mine.

0.100" restrictor here, no problems.

Volvo TDO5 turbos use a 12x1.5 thread banjo fitting, that's what I used. Got it on ebay.
