Just thought I'd introduce myself to you locals :)

My name is Ben, I come from the Volkswagen world and this is my first Supra. I'm 22 and a senior at UW.

A couple pics from the day I got her, pretty ugly imo; gay blue, totally stock, ishty paint, ewgh. BUT, a really really solid car it seems :)

I traded my beater daily Jetta for her a couple months ago, it already has a 45k engine in it with a new HG, a "stage 1" clutch (wtf that means? 6 puck?) and a fidanza lightened flywheel.
Here is a list of what else I've done thus far:
-FMIC w/SSQ BOV
-Intake
-Megan Coils (actually Really good, I'll do a write up soon)
-3" HKS downpipe
-3" Blitz NurSpec exhaust
-17" Panasport G7's with 235/45 and 255/40 BFG G-Sports (still waiting to go on :( )
-Stripped interior. Have one new Sparco Sprint and one old Sprint, almost ready to go in just need brackets from Speedware or wherever..
-New colder plugs, new MSD 8.5mm wires, Redline MTL-90 tranny fluid, HG Torqued to 72lbs

Next:
-interior: only the dash and the sparcos. Full Cage as soon as I sell my VW long block (oh yeah, I'm now selling my fully built engine that was intended for my Rabbit, lol)
-engine: Lexus AFM, 500cc injectors, boost controller. later=57trim. I'm not currently looking to go crazy with the engine.
-outside: bomb canned satin white, hopefully an early nose piece as well. Probably a CF hood once I have an extra $600+ dollars laying around...

Also thought I'd share a couple shots of my vw's for good measure, and because I'm a whore :icon_bigg

Alright I think thats about it :)
I have a pretty busy life so I dont know if you'll ever actually see me come out to anything, but now at least you know my name so I can post without you wondering who the hell I am :biglaugh:

Thanks guys

Welcome Ben! You should at least try to make it to the Centralia Meet. That won't be that bad of a drive for you.

Nice ride! There are MUUUUUUUCH worse MK3's out there let me tell ya! I agree on the color though. ;)

Nice mods so far and your future mod list also. But did you mean 550cc injectors?! ;)

Good luck with school and hope to meet you in Centralia!

Welcome. There is alot of knowledge available here. As you add mods you will find the search option to be your best friend.:icon_bigg

You'll probably want to look for 550's.

Welcome to the board. Post your pics in the gallery as well. What year are the Rabbits? The bumpers are throwing me off. I know the '77 or '78 didn't come with that bumper. (at least, in North America.)

Welcome. The NW scene for Supras is pretty good, especially the MK2 guys. We just had an annual meet yesterday, up in Everett.

I think we have a good portion of all generations in the NW. ;) We had an overall meet in Everett this past weekend this past Sat. (including Stu's new Skyline)

Do you by any chance, have pics from this meet? I'm really interested. :icon_bigg

And I do apologize to MA71 for hijacking this thread for a moment.

Thanks for the responses guys :)

Got some awesome news that you might be interested in: Some dickbag hit my car in a mall parking lot a couple days ago.
pretty cool huh?

I went inside for like 15 minutes max to buy some new running shoes that I was just going in to pick up and when I came back out my driver's fender was pushed in almost to the hood line (in the area from the wheel well to the upper bumper piece thingy). Needless to say I was Livid! Yeah my paint is all messed up but the car itself was Super straight! I grabbed my slide-hammer and pulled out what I could, it looks a lot better but its still crinkled...
Now I am trying Everywhere to find a new fender and upper bumper piece and can't seem to find one., I'm hoping to find an entire early nose piece and just do it all at once, but find a straight nosed supra in a junk yard appears to be nearly impossible :( :(

I'll have some pics for ya in a few days, but if any of you guys happen to have a line on some body parts for me, at Least a drivers fender, I would be Very appreciative.......

Thanks,
Its understandable to not know what the rabbits are, it may not look like it but I have a TON of work into each and determining the year would be very difficult for somebody that doesn't Really know the cars.

The brown Rabbit is technically a '77 but it was built in '76. Being as such it means that it carried over a lot of the very desirable attributes from the first year model (the '75). It was going to be my "amazing" car but I dont have what it takes to make it that way any more, so its just going to be a really nice sunny day driver. It was a rotted shell when I got and I've restored it from the ground up :)

The black Rabbit is actually an 84 GTI. I started building it when I was 16 and its now actually just a shell :( :( It was my little pocket rocket. I built an n/a beast of a 16v for it: ~170bhp, ~1800lbs, roll bar, harnesses, H&R coils, big brakes, 10 different sets of wheels, etc etc.. that car was a complete blast. It would pull on pretty much any car, and take even more in the twisties. I took it apart a year or two ago to do the body work and shit went down that made it never get back together :(

As far as the headlights and bumpers and such, both cars have the "plastic euro bumpers". The brown car has its stock front end and the GTI has an early front end swap. Basically, the GTI is bastard child of whatever I wanted it to be, while the 77 is a ton more period correct. :)

Dude dont even worry about it. Just FYI, the volkswagen scene up here is 1) the largest in the country, and 2) you have to a very tough skin, everyone is sarcastic as hell and just says whatever they think. This is not the first time I've been thread jacked and to be honest I dont mind it a bit, if anything it makes things a lot more entertaining :icon_razz

Thanks for the warm welcome guys, I'm sure I'll be seeing yall around at some point.

I do have one quick question:
My car is getting like 14mpg, is this normal? If not, what can I do to help it?
