i just looked at the sp bolt on turbos... and if there numbers are true, then im defintaley thinkin about those turbos, 490hp at 18psi? thats nuts! it would be the last turbo i buy, but, does it bolt onto the oem downpipe? because i cant find any pictures of the exhaust turbine...

it's a little different. Same flange, different angle.

Make sure its a new version SP. Unless you want to pull it off and do a rebuild every 500 miles. :3d_frown::cry:

please enlightne me on this 500 mile reubild process :sarcasm:

im sitting here comparing the side view of 3 different BIC downpipes, if its different, it has to be as little as little can get, cause its the exact same pieces for all three downpipes... if its just the little seperate i have to cut off and re-weld or something, thats easy...

i would love to get some pics of the hotside, guess i'll go continue my searching for it...

yup im here! went through a ridiculous number of the older style sp61gt's last year. then i had it completely rebuilt and changed out with MDC motorsports (on this forum) and www.notrice.com and had them build the first JT61GT.

Bottom line the older style SP61 had a design issue that has been fixed (I think) but it took SEVERAL rebuilds to figure out what went wrong. The life span was 8,000miles, 4,000 miles, 1,000 miles, ............. 200 miles! The new JT61GT has been going strong now for over 2,000 miles without issue (knocks on wood) and the new BOSS rear housing is more than enough for me to give the nod to them (the SP rear housing was a bitch to put on/take off)

LOL! MKIIINA posted on here!

I guess the issue has been fixed now so i'll shut up.

seems like ALL of the early "bolt on" turbos had some issues... lol

im sure they've all been fixed now since turbo companys got tired of rebuilding turbos for stupid reasons!

i found some pictures of the hotside, and from what i can tell, the divider plate just needs to be moved up a little if anything... i would LOVE to get my hands on one of these turbos so i can see whats really going on with that exhaust housing. but i'll continue my research tomorrow... freakin 2am right now. haha
