I pulled this hks programed fuel computer system out of the 1992 Toyota Supra TurboI just bought. I have RC 550 injectors inside the car and the lexus AFM. However, the car never ran right with this system in it for some reason. Is there anyone that I could contact to tell me what this thing does, or is suppose to do?

^^^ Don't know if that helps or not... but there's some EARLY era HK$ documentation for their early products... including some explanation on the PFC F-con piggyback unit.

NOTE: I am running pretty much ALL of the HK$ stuff... and MORE and my car runs smooth as silk.;)

G/L!

if im not correct its for ur afc(air fuel ratio) and your supposed to tune it with your injectors and lexus afm. put it this way, u have more air and more fuel goin into your engine and your stock ecu is made not made for the injectors and lexus afm.

THe PFC F-Con was HKS foray into using bigger injectors with the stock ECU. The PFC F-Con did not have adjustments, that was what the HKS GCC was for.

The PFC F-Con was usually used in conjunction with the HKS VPC and the HKS GCC for tuneability but not full control as in the end, it was "lieing" to the TCCS.

Yup to all of the above... my alphabet soup continues to "lie" to my ECU...

I have it all as well and love it. Even got the rare lean out switch for the Fcon

Surely you don't have the old-school SBC unit with REMOTE TRIGGER button!?:naughty:

...I don't have the rare lean out switch! That didn't work with the EARLY FCD did it?

(Me too... love the stuff.)

It lloks like they make different roms for these system pre-programmed. Anyone know how to find the part number on the unit? Is it locted inside on one of the electronic pieces?

I know that the E105V is the Rom number. Unfortunately somebody removed that stick on the casing on my F-CON. So i have no idea which rom is loaded on this bitch. Plus, HKS is a joke to contact....

I believe the E105V designation is the 550cc injector with VPC module. (Well... 550's, anyway...)

I'd just order the RIGHT module for whatever setup you have. I think they are about $100 from HKS.

I've seen that simple investment save otherwise dead projects.;)

Do you know of any way that I can tell what module I have by looking at the unit?

Um.... I think that i was a little confusing in a previous post. I Have absolutely no idea what the rom number is on my HKS F-Con. I am just looking for a way to find out what Rom was loaded onto this thing, then it is going up for sale. So, any takers? Just let me know. I know they are really expensive new.

Can't be certain. It may have lost it's "flash" or even be the wrong "map" for your setup. Unless you were using it before and it ran right, and you know that you are running 440's or 550's you are dealing with a ?

I'd just spend the $ fo the right one or have someone with a KNOWN good one hook you up or test it.

BTW, if you aren't careful with the recommended care when working on it, you CAN mess up the chip! (Been there, done that. Paid for a new $100 chip from HKS and VIOLA! Back on the road again.) No guarantee that's your issue... but better than a "crap shoot" if you are keeping the PFC F-con setup.

I'm looking to get rid of the PFC F-CON set-up actually. Thanks for your input. I think I am going to save up and go with the motec instead, get rid of a piggyback all together.

By all accounts, that's the WISEST move!;)
