Hey guys, I'm gathering together all the odds and ends for my car, and I was just wondering if anyone knew what size vaccum fitting the 50mm HKS EWG (knock off) uses?

I come from a land down under
BSPT= British Pipe
NPT= National Pipe

NPT is an American standard and has 1 TPI difference and a different Taper angle so isn't interchangable even though it will screw in.

BTW, I know you run one of these Brent, do you just run a single vac. line to it like you would an internal WG, or am I retarded. From what i can tell I only need one vac fitting.. is that correct?

Brent, is it just your HKS controller than needs the top of the WG hooked up, or should I source manifold vac/pressure to the top of the WG, and compressor pressure to the lower fitting with the control valve in that line?

I was planning on NOT using the top port of the WG at all actually.

I will be running the MAFT PRO boost control.

I have the same 50mm HKS copy sold on ebay.

I may be wrong, but I think you have to use the lower port of the EWG, I havn't found anything yet to show me otherwise. I guess i have to go pick up another fitting.

BTW 1/8 std worked fine with some sealer.

So plumb the top port into your manifold, and put a short screw into the adjustment hole to plug it up too?

Don't see a need. (When I apply compressed air to the lower port, it opens the valve, and I'd think when the boost control opens the solenoid, it will open the valve using pressure from the compressor housing....

Just my theory, and it's how I had my dual port internal waste gate setup for years, and it worked for the most part.
