So continuing from my other thread, where i was asking about the rivets on the HKS headgasket, mine arrived today and i took pictures so you guys could show me what exactly needs to be removed. I really dont want to mess up this headgasket.

Heres some pics (Not sure if its front of black to back or back to front, hoping someone can chime in)

Then....
The headgaskets bent.
Is this going to effect anything?

You can see in the photo how it curves up

AAAAAAAND
The headgasket is seperating at points, is this normal for a MLS headgasket and just needs to be placed properly? Also, don't use copper spray with this headgasket correct? I just want to make sure i got everything correct.

Do you guys think i should use this headgasket with it being bent and seperating like that, or should i return it and get a new/flat one.

Sorry about the pics, only camera i have is my cellphone, and i didnt want to take it out of the package.

no copper spray, and i do not believe that bend will effect anything since it will be torqued down unless there is actual bend like a crease in the metal (if reusing a gasket you have to separate it to clean it to make sure all the viton coating is off) seperation of layers is fine, they wont be when its torqued down but they have to be lined up correctly

when your about to put in on can you get a closeup of the top left of that gasket (mine was like that too looks like there would be a rivet there but there wasn't or if there was it wasn't visible when installed plus i didn't touch/interfere with the mating surfaces)

send it back! you didnt pay for a custom bent gasket so why chance it?

as for rivets
my 1.2mm hks went on fine with no problems from rivets.
lay it on the block and the rivets should be hanging off the block surface

I ordered a HKS headgasket and the way it was packaged caused it to be "warped" not bent. Bent would be a crease, the "warp" means it has just been stored that way for a while. I put it under my mattress with some plywood on top, and it was flat again ;) (I sent it back due to wrong size however).

My cometic came shrinkwrapped so it would not do this.

All Metal gaskets "separate" like that.

Ij, im going to print out that pic and show it to my mechanic.

From what you see, would you personally use the gasket or would you send it back to HPF and ask for another?

I agree with the others. If it's only bent slightly, it should be fine. If it was bent hard enough to crease then that would pose a serious issue. Take some better pictures of the entire gasket outside the bag.
