the only place to install an FCD is the trash bin.

those instructions basically tell you to look at the Toyota TSRM for the wiring information.

If you are having trouble deciphering the TSRM, do not install the FCD as this is not that hard to understand.

Childersburg AL,
are you guys saying the HKS FCD isnt worth installing as a product?
Op whats your current mod list? it might not be a good idea to delay fuel cut if your mods arent up to par. were not trying to get in your shit, but we dont want your next post talking about how theres a giant hole in your block.

.

Correct

the ONLY reason the FCD exists is due to the HKS VPC/GCC/FCC combo as you had some adjustment on top along with a quasi-fuel map.

None of that and the FCD is nothing more than a ticking time bomb.

lets explain what the FCD does.

The AFM output is in Hertz (Hz). The FCD clamps the HZ at max signal (around 1250 ish hz). Since the signal is now clamped at that static frequency, even if you are injesting more air, the computer will have ZERO knowledge of the additional air. it is still injecting fuel for the 1250 hz signal, guess what happens as the air increases.

LEAN condition and then SUPER LEAN condition until detonation takes place.

Thanks guys. That post was a couple months ago as i had just gotten my supra running. Someone had mentioned to me that "all i need is to upgrade the intercooler, get a boost controller, and a fuel cut defender and I'll have plenty of hp." That post was based on this info given to me. Now after 2 months hard research on here i see what you guys were talking about. Honestly thanks for shitting on me if you hadn't i'd be running lean as a motherfucker and probably have some engine damage. Time to start from the bottom up.

Ok so what is the cure for the fuel cut? Without shelling out hundreds or thousands of dollars on multiple systems? I want to run around 20 PSI and if fuel cut is going to be an issue....

fuel cut is your friend. When something happens that you not watching (you really going to watch your gauges EVERY single time you get into boost?) you'll be glad it was there.

You can raise it with safc's and other piggy backs but clamping it is not the answer.
