I am installing the fcd. I've only let it idle so far and I am getting code 31. The voltage reading when idling at the white wire coming from afm is 2.5v and at the yellow wire going to ecu is 0.03v. My car is running very rich at7.6afr idling. My question is, is this normal? I've read in other forum to drive it for awhile so the ecu will learn to remap. Is this true? Will the code 31 reset itself after being driven after awhile.

Thanks

by no means have i installed one or ever will, i'll just advice not to..

i guess first off, why a fuel cut defender?>?

have you done any research about them?

have you searched how many people have fried their motor using them?

no the product wont kill the car, but the user combined with the product pushing the boost up will kill the car.

exspecaily how most try to tune and install stuff on their own,

i guess my rant is over,

look up tsrm by searching to find out what code 31 means.

31 Air Flow Meter Signal
Diagnosis
(7M-GE) Open circuit in VC signal or short circuit between VS and E2 when idle contacts are closed.
(7M-GTE) Open or short circuit in air flow meter signal.
Trouble Area
Air flow meter circuit
Air flow meter
ECU

Nobody here using fcd fry their motor. The only way I see frying their motor is during dyno testing or auto car where you wot for a long time. My car at 7psi, the afr is 10. Going higher boost at 12psi the afr is 9. People using afc pull their fuel out not adding.

bad tunes and stupidity fry more motors than anything else, all I can think is that one of your wires to cpu is wrong, double-check everything

ive installed 3 fcd on supras- i know everybody hates them but if ur careful, then oh well. only once did i have a code come up when i started the car- it idled like shit. it was because i didn't crimp down the wire connector enough. so i would go back and double check ur connections first. ecu shouldn't have to remap itself.

I solder the ks wire( light green). White wire from afm, yellow to the ecu. Green wire tap to igt wire. Red wire to b+ wire, black to E1( brown wire). I double check tomorrow . The car is drivable but I can't get any boost. I got fuel cut everytime I push the gas especially in 1st to 4th gear. Like it won't take any load. I use the blue tap from autoparts store red, green and black wire. Maybe I should solder them.
thanks.

i found alsways to solder for any ecu alterning device,

i fought my piggy back for months cause of a loose wire.

is there any adjustment on the fcd to raise or lower the khz that the afm signal is clamped at?
