SPend the extra, *100* and go 3 inch. Great top end on N/A's. I have 3 inc hand im n/a! And if/when you deside to go turbo!:naughty:

What kind of exhaust are you running? Is it loud? I'm Also looking for a good 3" exhaust to replace my loud 2.5" N1. I was thinking about getting the Tanabe Super Medalion or the Tanabe Touring cat backs. It'll benefit me when I go turbo and they don't exceed 93db.

I did a little research a while back on piping size. Don't remember where I got the formula from but it computes to about 2.5" being the ideal size for NA Supra's. There is a misnomer of having some backpressure for NA's being "good", which of course, is false. No backpressure is good but the ideal size piping (for NA's) maintains exhaust velocity, helping with scavenging and ultimately, overall horsepower. If you are planning to keep the vehicle NA, I'd stick with 2.5"

183.07 is (roughly) the 7M in cubic inches.

(RPM x Motor Size)/554,177 = Recommended diameter.

(7,000 x 183.07)/554,177 = 2.31"

The HKS 2.5" isn't bad for the price, if you want a stock type replacement exhaust for the NA.

I sell custom NA exhaust systems and even then my price is not any better then the HKS one. The only difference is mine has a SS twin tip muffler.

If it's n/a then the HKS 2.5" is perfect. You will notice that you are loosing torque if you go 3". However, 3" is more ideal if you decide to go turbo later on. Take out the resonator if you want more free flow but your exhaust will be louder. Add headers, a high flow cat, and cold air intake then you have a really nice setup. That's what I had when I was N/A.

I've got a header.
It looks identical to the stock NA exhaust minus the welding required for the collector flange. I never put it on because it was more trouble than anything else.

Looks to me like it replaces everything up to the cat.

I'd STRONGLY recommend you not getting this. I had the turbo version on my last 91 and it was a piece of shit, starting rusting the day I put it on. The materials are total crap ass shit. HKS must have outsourced this one to China, cause its the worst product I've ever seen from them.

just my .02.... sorry just made me mad remembering that pos exhaust. Now have full stainless, keep it nice and polished, and couldn't be more happy... so spend the extra $ and get stainless
