HKS 75MM Cat-Back

I had this on the 89 turbo supra i just sold, there is a noticeable power gain but nothing to write home about. I had a magnaflow setup from 935 on there before that and it spooled a little quicker, felt a little more powerful and sounded a little more aggressive than the HKS.
But i liked the hks setup because it had twin exhaust tips and was quiet. This build up i am going to try raptor racing's muffler.
As for rust, i didnt have it long enough for it to get rust, but it was coated.
It was a good setup but if you want MAX power there are other kits to choose I think, but i dont have experience with them.

I'm running this catback, and I've been very pleased with it. In the past, people have had some problems with rust but I believe that was before they coated the exhaust. I purchased mine last fall and have had zero problems.
Power gains were pretty noticeable. The only mods I have is an A'pex Power Intake and this catback. I noticed a pretty good increase in throttle response and power, and this exhaust was installed after I had been running the intake and stock catback. The stock exhaust is so restrictive, even just 2 simple things like this can be considerably noticeable. As far as how much power, I can't give you an exact figure.
Like I said I have zero complaints with the exhaust. It's a well made, mandrel bent exhaust. The exhaust is quiet with a low rumble to it with the stock looking dual tips- just as I wanted. I have a clip up on Youtube, but my recorder didn't pick up the sound as good as it should, so I don't feel like it's a totally accurate example of the sound.
I bought it before I really saw what the vendors were selling and before I noticed them selling any stock looking and sounding 3" catbacks. I'm not even sure if any on here were even selling any like that when I bought mine. If I had a stock exhaust still, I don't know if I would buy this exhaust, only for the fact that at the cheapest price you can find it, you can get a stock looking and sounding custom one from a vendor for several hundred less. I paid $520 shipped and that is by far the cheapest I've found it and that is still a lot more than ones by vendors.
Maybe a dyno proving the HKS one is superior would change my mind, but I don't know. I'm glad I have mine and HKS is good stuff, but I guess it depends on your budget, wants, goals, and whether or not you want a "name brand."

The HKS system when tested for 65mm back in 1987 picked up a max of 36 rwhp, with peak to peak of 31 rwhp, with no other changes.

hks 75mm turbo sport is the BEST muffler hands down..> Quite stright though, high flowing and won't make the cops look twice at you just wish i would last longer
My supra is always garaged so I havent seen any rust issues either.
Im trying to keep my supra a sleeper and this exhaust is the only one I know of that is closest to stock noise.

I've had this exhaust since 98 or 99. No rust issues here - but I did get the thing ceramic coated before I installed it.
I noticed a bigger boost in power from replacing the DP - and getting rid of the first cat.
The note on this exhaust is awesome. Not loud but a nice tone.
It is straight through so the flow is GREAT!

Damn, I didn't realize it picked up that much whp- and that was 65mm! Disregard my above post then, get this exhaust!
I got mine at www.directtuning.com . It was $520 shipped (had free shipping) which is BY FAR the cheapest I've ever seen it for sale. It was already in stock and came quickly too. I was very pleased with their service.

I believe the HKS Turbo 75MM Exhaust has a baffled muffler like the stock muffler.

Didn't the stop making this exhaust recently? When I ordered mine almost a year ago, I could barely get it and several vendors I talked to said they were all out and not be getting anymore and the place I got mine from said they were being discontinued and I was getting the second to last one from that company?

That doesn't help trying to get the right info out there. It is a straigh through muffler. I put a coat hanger through the hole you see. The sport exhaust for naturally aspirated engines is baffled.
