hints/tips/tricks marlincrawler shifter bushing install?

i had difficulty getting the seat in, but when it when it it was fairly easy. takes lot of play out of the shifter. i also recieved a christmas card from mc
got like 4 or something. im thinking with all my stickers ill make like a poster board or something full of them to put in my room or garage (whenevever i get one)

The older bushings (most were orange) were made slightly different than the newer ones (white). The older ones fit in easy, the newer ones are a very tight fit.
To make the newer ones fit easily, simply file down the divots on the side a tiny bit.
And for the guy that asked, YES, this is a VERY worthwhile mod, especially because they're $15. Do it, don't even ask, just do it.
keep in mind you should grease the entire shifter assembly anyway...
I took the time to clean all the old nasty grease off and regrease it, it really does make a difference.
They made these bushings so hard becuase the trucks have 2' long shifters (I'm not kidding) and even the stock replacements will feel loose when new, and won't stand up to the abuse for long... For us, it's just that much better...

mine, went in with out grease. i remember i told them it was for a 87 turbo supra. it fit in like the lil video.
yea i ordered one too, one of the only worthwhile things ive really done to mine so far, and by far one of the BEST things ive done, it was tight like everyone else said but it didnt take that long and its an insane difference, before that when it was in gear it felt like neutral but now it feels like brand new,
and the Christmas card didnt hurt either, i liked that theyre all personally signed,

to be honest with you i have no idea who would be that insane either, but it really looked like a signature, like a blue ball point, but idk, maybe

I sanded down the edges of the plastic seat to get it in my w58. It was a tight fit, but I got it after quite a bit of sanding.
i was supposed to get mine in today but i missed the UPS dude 
and tomorrow im even more busy so ill probably miss 'em again (the pickup place is 40 minutes away!)

...the cards are definitely hand-signed. I've goten them for a few years now, definitely a nice touch.

Just installed them 10 minutes ago...having never taken off the shifter before it took me about an hour when said and done. I havn't driven it around yet but just shifting in the parking lot difference is like night and day!!! No more mis-shifts for this kid cause he can't get it in gear.....well unless i downshift to first i think the syncro is shot it just grinds when i try lol.
highly recommend for everyone! Easy install as well. Hardest part was figuring out how to get teh shifter bushing off with the limited tools i had. Pliers worked like a charm.
Only problem i have with it is it sticks when in neutral to the left side (driver side). I would assume my spring in there is a bit worn out causing the issue.

Mine sticks a bit to the passenger side...
It's from wear and tear on the shifter it appears, but i'd have to try a brand new shifter to confirm it (and I'm not doing that unless I go to a C's shifter)
