my dad just bought me a 1986 toyota supra from a insurance auction and it was messed up the driver side door was smashed in along with the fender and the side skirt was slightly damage the windows were down and it happened to rain the day before it was going to be auctioned off. the cool thing was that it came with the original owners manual and the original sticker. i would like to know some mod i can do at home like maybe some fine tuning i am only 16 but me and my dad have replaced the rack and pinion, rims (from a avalon but they look ok the ones in the pics were all off balance and were no good.

almost forgot it came with a cold air intake installed (money saved yay)
also the car is good now i drive it on errands i will post pics as soon as i get my hands on a camera

well some good spark plugs wires and a oil change is a great start then maybe a header and 3" exhaust and that non turbo would be fast for a non turbo

well umm...idk about fast....but its a start. Look into get its Head Gasket problems worked out, like retorqing the stock head bolts, or replacing with a metal head gasket, thats a lot of work but well worth it in the long run.

umm yea, if it has been changed with any type of metal head gasket, look for little metal tabs around the block, between the head and block, near the alternator....is probably hasnt been touched being a na motor..but u never know, other then that i dont think there is a way to tell with the paper gasket.

are you asking if there is a better bushing then toyota's bushing? if thats the case I have no idea, I have a retardedly stiff clutch, and its super stiff...on my R154 with a short throw shifter kit which I like, so I havent had the problem.

---------- Post added at 11:02 PM ---------- Previous post was at 11:00 PM ----------

i have seen alot of supra and ive noticed that most have a stock body kit but they lower it i havent been able to know how much it has been lowered and if i can do it with my TEMS system i would like to have a nice look that almost goes into the fender wells.

Hit a big "bump" I crashed and now the cars been in the garge for a month. I'm planing on building it now that the front is damaged I want to perpose build it for the track. I'll keep the 7mge because it still runs but the hood and radiator and any thing else in the area will be all race/street ready parts. It will be dam expensive but I didn't chose this car as a cheep build but a unique build. I couldent even post pics of when it was running perfectly. If any one know were I can get aftermarket body parts for my supra please do tell. I think it might take me a year or too but when I'm done and I drive it it will be all worth it.
Dose anyone know what I should do with the fuel it's got a full tank and I put seafoam in it not sure if it will keep the fuel good.

Read. Read. Read.

Did I say "Read?"

If you want to learn about a Supra and how to build an engine, take a look at this thread. It is a pretty good one and will answer a lot of questions.

CajunKenny's Build Thread

Ask questions you have before doing something because it will help you learn. When you think you want to do a GTE swap, save your money and save enough. Don't skim out on anything because you will be taking your car down to fix all the shit you skipped over.

I have spent a lot on my build and I still have more to do but when I register my car, I want to drive it, not spend time fixing it. It is that simple and I know most Supra owners, the good ones, feel the same way.
