Full valvetrain replacement; Ti shims/seats/springs with Ti valves too, why not eh. Make sure they are +1 oversized, and port/polish head, 3+ angle grind on the valve seats. Get a 5m crank to destroke it from 3 litres to less so it revs faster. Somebody else fill in the rest.

let see

if the valve train can take it

91 mm stroke.. perhaps an easy 7000 rpm on stock bottom. Built bottom 8k easily (BMW S54 has same stroke as our car and a 8k redline from factory ;) )

Meticulously balanced and couterweighted steel billet crank, titanium rods and wrist pins. If thats done right (IMHO) probably wouldn't have to de-stroke.

But for really high revs I think you would have to incorporate a valve train that in addition to being more stiffly sprung , lighter (sodium filled valves etc.) and stronger would eliminate or at least modify the shim spacer set-up as they will "spit out" at around 7k rpm's for sure and sometimes alot less.

save yourself some $$ and keep your stock valvetrain. Your bottom end will have problems with RPM before your head will

Are all these suggestions just hearsay and speculations, or has anyone actually tried to run high rpms. Someone that has actaully done it, please chime in......

I come from a land down under
ChevyEater has run to 8K and my motors pretty well a clone of his so I have no concerns about spinning it that hard once it's together.

It's NOT something I'd try on a budget build though.

9K is alot of revs. Especially for a 7m. Everything has to be just right or kaploooeeey!!!

With all due respect you should build some engines and get some serious working knowledge before you even think about 9000 rpm's.

If you have this many questions on what it's gonna take to do the do (in this case 9k) you are not ready to tackle this kind of mechanical undertaking.s

Save yourself some money and alot of grief and work up to a goal like this, otherwise you'll spend a ton of money, probably not get what you want and become a very frustrated Supra owner.

Just a word to the wise...

well #1 i have built up many engs and for high reving 2 my 3TC-T is at 10 and it is pushrod. The only reason im asking is what the highest anyone has went as u can see in my first post im wanting to see what differant people are using that is why i waited till after some people said some things before i said what i was already doing to the head cus some people wont use their own judgement or opion when u post what u r going to use so i just wanted to see that and as for money well knowing the right people saves alot of money for sure the head is gonna cost me 800 parts included Well other than that yah i understand what u r saying about things and agree with u

what is honestly, the point of revving a turbo engine to 9K? there aren't many turbos out there that will be able to keep up with that kind of powerband (ie. not run out of breath by 9K) and still be decently streetable. are you building this up for a certain application?

i mean 9K is s2000 and rx8 range... i just don't see the need, other than bragging rights. but that's just me. 8k would be a lot easier, and probably give you just as good of a power curve. 8K is still damn high. just my two cents.

absolutly nothing :)

but 10.2k on a stock bottom end ;) not that smart especially with the loads seen at that rpm.
