I will say that $800.00 just for pistons is a bit on the high side of things.
I'd rather Buy a 1uz-fe, refreshen it and throw on some bolt ons and go from there.

Now you know why some of us would rather spend hard earned speed money on a small block Chevy or Ford. And just keep the Supra the nice luxury GT it is. $800 for 6 pistions? That is as bad as a grand for 6 rods.

I also run the Wiseco 10.5:1 pistons. I ordered them through the Import Performance Parts link above and have zero complaints with them.

The average Supra owner seems to be rabidly anti-NA. Apparently because turbo engines make way more power than NA engines you should just turbo your engine rather than modify it, even if that kind of power is not your objective. That said, bumping the compression alone will not net you all that much without supporting mods. A combination of high compression, porting, cams, and headers is what really wakes these tired old 7m's up. :icon_bigg

Do you have any dyno sheets? I'm curious what a 10.5:1 CR 7M will put to the ground.

I have the same stroker kit with a lot of mods. Last dyno without the bigger injectors and Maft-Pro was 217 rwhp and 207 tq.

Takes more then just putting together a 7m with a stroker kit or just higher compression pistons to get much power from GE

Damn. :( I know you'd need good tuning and whatnot, likely some head work to flow some more but I was hoping for more than that. I mean, the gains are pretty good from stock, but for a 7mge to be worth it to me, it would need to put down 240-250rwhp.

I want to see what your 10.5:1 cars will do once fully set up the way you plan. Could be very cool!

my fully stripped car I took to the scrap yard weighed 2200 lbs.. That was no interior other than the seats, no glass, no hatch, no motor or trans, no fenders, or bumpers or anything.. Still heavy as fuck lol

With some many lighter/faster cars out there can a built N/A 7M or a 1UZ really compete on the track? Someone could probably do better with a lightened 240 w/ a KA motor...

Btw, wouldn't someone save a few pounds with the aluminum block of a 1UZ over having a 7M?

I think 240 is possible. But yeah, the head will need more flow and more cam timing. That just isn't a lot of displacement to pull the same rwhp as an LT1. In fact, most LT1's are really about 225-240 stock.

I'm trying to get the feeling of even a 240bhp N/A MKIII. It would be fun if the weight was chopped down a little.

I'm pushing maybe 260-270bhp in my e36 M3 (dyno this spring) and that's at around three thousand pounds, and different rear gear so it feels snappier. It's a blast to drive, but nowhere near fast enough in a straight line for those long highway pulls.

Hm, just checked a set of Wiseco 10.5 cr pistons.
Flatlander claims that they have a 6cc dish, but my burret says they are 8cc.
Not only that, but the pistons come .030" short of reaching the deck surface at TDC.
Crap !
Love it when people who sell stuff can't get their facts strait.

Weisco will make anything you want. Flatlander uses those in their stroker kit with SBC rods I believe.
