High compression! Damnit to hell!

So this past weekend I purchased a comp guage and did a quick test on my supra (with hot engine)...

Only tested 1 and 6 as I was just playing around that day...anyway....both 1 and 6 are at 170 psi!!!!

Checked by pulling efi fuse, wot, cranked till needle stopped climbing....

Head measured .001" undersize after decking according to Toyota deck height spec....using a 1.3mm cometic as i wanted to keep stock compression...the headgasket cylinder bore is one size larger that stock so I figured I'd be just under stock comp but I'm way over!

Thoughts?

I'm pretty sure 170 is about right

Spec is around 140psi but if you do some looking around i have read a lot of peoples compression reasings are higher that than. usually in the 150-165 range. You might have some carbon buildup, how new is the motor? I have a brand new rebuilt .040 with block and head machined with a 1.73mm Cometic hg and my compression readings were about 164, so i dont think your readings are much to be alarmed by.

Shortblock is factory 100k miles but I cleaned the piston crowns of carbon.....well aslong as that's pretty standard then all is well

The last time I checked mine when it was healthy I was at 170.

Mine is is at 125-126 across the board , 500 miles when checked. She just isn't sporting to much Toyota stuff on the inside

The last time I checked mine, #3 was 225 and the rest were 230psi, cold, about 25k after a rebuild. Sure, my timing is slightly off because the head is 0.030" too short, but it's close enough for me.

Those numbers are very excessive!
