Your concern is well placed (I had similar thoughs when I first read it on the sogi list) but this dog was beaten to death years ago. John actually ran tempature tests and has pictures here if you care to ready a litle more about it:

Continuous Service Temperature - in Air (max.) for pvc is 160f or 71c

the supra engine bay is WELL above this frequently!

its just dum to save $20 and use pvc when mild steel is soooooo much better suited to the application, its ALLWAYS better to opperate with a margin of safety!

looks like you used sillicone sealant instead of pvc glue??? maybe try the correct glue but gees man.. :3d_frown: i prefer mild steel so i can weld up a 1/8th inch bead around each end of the IC pipe to prevent each hose and clamp from NEVER slipping off again... and steel or aluminum pipe is tuff and looks cool too. Pvc is made for turds to flow on gravity only, not boost friendly..
good point on the heat shield , use it...
