electrical wiring is not my specialty but i the wiring on this install was pretty straight forward. the connector on the passenger side is getting a constant 12V when the lights are on. but the bulb is not staying on... it just dims after a second or two until its completely out. i thought maybe the ground wasnt good so i moved it to a known ground and still nothing. im beginning to believe its a problem with the ballast.

i know the harness that comes with the hid kit has one connector for the stock headlamp (drivers side)... but the other connector on the passenger side is not hooked up. could this have anything to do with it? i know its just to switch the lights on, but im out of ideas

He is so lucky that he is a continent away or my 1jz would whip Fatty's ass.........oh that's right, it isn't running yet..............:evil2:

sneakypete, I got my lights working now by rewiring the fog lights to come on whenever I want them too, and on the passenger's side, I still have the stock plug not plugged into anything so I doubt that's your problem. It may be the ballast. Good luck.

i just tried switching the ballast from problematic headlamp (passenger side) with the drivers side ballast. the passenger side headlamp didnt fire at all and the drivers side headlamp showed the same symptoms as the the passenger side did before i switched them.

i thought maybe i shorted something but when i switched them back to the original setup they worked as they did before i tried anything (passenger side bad, and drivers side good)

im not really sure what that means. are the ballasts good or not? i went over all the wires and none are frayed or broken.

Electrical problems suck and are really hard to fix over the internet. You may need to get a voltage meter or whatever they're called and check all the wires. That's what we had to do to figure out my wiring nightmare on the fog lights. I did the sogi wiring trick, but they didnt' work. My wiring harness has been hacked into so many times I'm lucky to have any lights. I wish I could help, but I'm an idiot. Good luck.

I had the same issue with my HID working for a month then dieing. So I found out it was a bad ground wire on the plug. So i directly connected it to the ground and it worked.

FYI my fogs went out with my HID kit install too

hmmm... ill have to check that out. that actually makes sense in my case. when i checked for power in the ballast connector, and i grounded it on that wire, i got nothing. but when i grounded it to the chassis, it had power. ill check that out tomorrow.
thanks
