After getting the HID's installed last night, they wouldn't dim. I do have the kit that dims by the way. If I take the bulb that came stock with my housings and install it in the stock plug on the passengers side, they will work. They'll brighten and dim, but I have another bulb like the old MKII's had in the engine bay. I can probably jumper a wire accross the plug, but I was wanting to know from someone that has done this before, how did you wire yours up? The instructions are vague and I have them connected like they say, but something is wrong. Thanks.

Do you mean high beam and low beam? Most HID kits are low beam. Then there is the Bi-Xenon kit. It should just be a plug and play.

I don't think the HID's actually dim. They should have a shield so that the light is reflected higher when you activate the high beams.

That is correct. It does have a shield, but the shield won't move unless I plug a spare bulb into the stock wiring harness on the passengers side. I'm going to redo everything this weekend and see what I can figure out. I've got to be missing something, but I dont' know what it is.

That might have something to do with it. Even when I put the extra bulb in there and it makes the lights work, the foglight go off when I turn them on dim. They come back on when I put them back on bright. I didn't notice them doing this when the other HID's were in there though. I will do a search for SOGI foglight rewire and see what I come up with. Thanks.

there may be a little harness with two wires and at the end of them is a plug that you may need to turn around. i wish i had a pic of what i am talking about. i had the same problem on my truck's HID's and played with it a while.

by the way jay, my wife and i passed through your area yesterday on our way home from gatlinburg. i only saw one supra. red mkiii in Chattanooga.

All right then, that's me stating the obvious as usual :icon_bigg

Let us know if you figure out the issue as there are quite a few of us who just took part in the GB. I'm sure you won't be the only one with the problem.

I haven't received my e-code housings yet, so I haven't been able to do mine yet.

I've had mine for a year, one bulb blew within a month and the other one has stopped switching between high and low beam... :(

You should try powering them directly to the battery. Remember to use a relay aswell. Or you can just buy a relay kit, don't forget that the initial charge and the engagement of the shields might require more power than the stock lighting harness can handle.

The easysee bixenon kits have their own fuseholders and relay box and only use the factory headlight harness for signal wires. HID's actually use less current than the factory headlight bulbs, so it shouldn't be an issue either way.

What brand HID kit are you installing?

Sean, I've still got your HID bulb, I'll get you another one for the one that stopped switching. PM me your addy and I'll get them out once the second bulb comes in.

It's a kit that CK Anderson sells on here. I doubt the problem lies in the kit, I'm pretty sure the problem lies somewhere within the installers lack of knowledge and his ignorance.

suprahero, i had the same issue as you. the brights only worked on the drivers side. my fogs didnt work. actually, when i pressed the foglight switch the drivers side bright worked, but not the passenger side. i recently did the sogi foglight rewire and the brights work as they should. this should fix your problem

i now have a different problem ive been trying to figure out. my passenger side lamp keeps going out. when i turn on the lights, it lights up then dims till it goes out completely. so i know the bulb is good. cant seem to figure it out. what i dont understand is why it worked for the first month or so then started to act like this.

anyone have any ideas?
