A metal CAT (Exhaust Depot) will flow better, but the metal substrate can be damaged if you go lean.

The ceramic substrate CAT is more corrosion resistant.

I'm pretty sure the Exhaust Depot CAT is a 2-way (CO + HC), most modern ceramic CATs are 3-way (CO + HC + NOx)...the 7M came with a 2-way.

Efficiency is going to depend on the substrate wash coat on either the ceramic or metal CATs.

The CATs you linked to do not have flanges...are you planning to weld your own?

I have Random Tech 3" high flow cat. Car didnot pass emissions with 550s and lexus AFM. With stock fuel and AFM, car passed with this cat.

Im planning on getting flanges for the cats. My car came with just a DP so I never saw the secondary cat, or the original muffler for that matter. Its been custom since the first week. A few flanges won't hurt.

I wonder if that's what happened to mine. I got the Exhaust Depot one, from Supra Store, a few years ago. Recently the insides fell apart causing an exhaust restriction. I don't remember any lean conditions. Guess I'll have to look back through my logs to see.

Just be aware that the insides can fall apart on this cat.

Just curious. The cat everyone is referring to, is that the second cat? Is everyone running a downpipe and eliminating the first cat? I'm still many months away from this point, but a little research ahead of time can't hurt! Thanks.
